Camera Testing for Water Wells

Diagnose Well Problems with Clarity and Confidence

If your well has suddenly lost pressure, your water has turned cloudy, or your pump seems to be failing, the best way to find out what's going on is to look inside.

Camera inspection aka downhole video allows us to do just that.

At Summers Well Drilling, we use a specialized well camera rig to inspect the inside of your well casing, screen, and borehole. This gives us (and you) visual confirmation of what's happening underground: no guesswork and no unnecessary repairs.

What is Well Camera Inspection?

Camera testing involves lowering a waterproof video camera into the well to capture real-time footage of the interior. This can help identify:

Cracks or corrosion in the casing Sediment buildup or clogging at the screen A stuck or dropped pump Invasive roots, debris, or obstructions Water discoloration or biological growth Signs of collapse or narrowing

The footage is recorded and reviewed, allowing us to make accurate, data-driven recommendations.

When Should I Get a Camera Test?

We recommend camera inspections when you're experiencing:

Sudden or intermittent water pressure loss Cloudy, sandy, or discolored water Sulfur smell or metal taste that appears suddenly Suspected damage from lightning strikes or earthquakes Pump failure or pump stuck in the well Buying property with an unknown or old well

It's one of several diagnostic tools we use when getting to the bottom of your well problems.

Camera testing is also an excellent first step in well rehabilitation. We often find that a well assumed to be "dead" can actually be repaired once we see what's happening inside.
